Barcelona Itineraries
Gothic Quarter: It is an old town district known as the Gothic Quarter because of the treasure house of Gothic monuments found here, today it occupies what was an ancient fortified Roman village, it homes nowadays historic monuments and modern institutions. The itinerary begins at the Plaça Nova with the twin semicircular towers of the well-preserved Roman walls.

Ribera Quarter: It is separated from the Gothic Quarter by the Via Laietana and nowadays comprises two separate districts Sant Pere and Santa Maria del Mar. Both districts were joined together during the 14th century by the street of C. Montcada and became the center of the new city and where the finest private mansions were built and still standing today.

El Eixample: Also called "Enlargement" is the central area of Barcelona city. The walk begins at the Plaça de Catalunya. Through the Passeig de Gràcia, between the Plaça de Catalunya and the street of Gran Via de les Cortes Catalanes, we can see some characteristic neogothic structures. There are three notable buildings before getting the Gran Via, on the street of Casp exactly those are the Tívoli Theater, now a cinema, the Casal de Sant Jordi, the work of Francesc Folguera, and the Casa Calvet by Antoni Gaudí.

La Rambla: It is made of seven different sections, each with its own name.The upper section is named the Rambla de Canaletes after the fountain of Canaletes whose tradition says that any visitor who drinks its waters will one day come back to Barcelona.

The Waterfront: This itinerary begins at the Plaça del Portal de la Pau, a square opening towards the sea where we find the Columbus Lookout, the Drassanes, the Customs house and the main office of the Port of Barcelona.

Montjuïc: A symbol of pride ever since the Romantics discovered its beauty in the 1800's and a slow project of urban development was launched, beginning with the 1929 World's Fair and culminating with the 1992 Olympic Games. Fairgrounds, first–rate museums, excellent sports facilities, beautiful gardens and parks, an authentic green lung for the city and final resting place for the dead, Montjuïc is indeed a magnificent spot.
