This gorgeous beach is known as“La Joya del Mediterráneo”, it is located 40 Km to the south of Barcelona, you can get there by train from Barcelona-Santsen in approximately 40 minutes; Sitges is an ideal place to spend all the day, visit its museums, go for a walk to the sea contemplating its beautiful colonial houses or enjoying on the terraces of its bars and restaurants which is a very relaxing experience.

It is simply impossible not to visit Sitges, because it is the most emblematic place in the whole Catalan coast which shows a mix of natural beauty, historical places, cultural events and a night march which is an entire legend.

It offers, for lovers of culture two important museums, the Museu Dog Ferrat and the Museum Maricel, those which years ago were the house of renowned artists like Santiago Rusiñol. Despite of the great number of years in the circuit tourist Catalan, it has been able to remain unharmed to the tendency that many coastal areas to its surrounding, which have become in not singular places, cheap and massive tourism.

Also international events take place in Sitges as the “Festival de Cine Fantástico de Cataluña” celebrated in autumn; This picturesque town that combines tradition and cosmopolitan attitude is capable to congregate a lot of people, even celebrities of international fame during and outside these events.

After taking a look to the Sitges culture, taking a wonderful marine walk is an unforgettable experience,there we can enjoy an exquisite meal specialized in fish and shellfish or may be more traditional dishes as paella or fideúa and drink the excellent villagers wines while enjoying the wonderful Mediterranean sight, contemplating the sea, people in the beaches, the sand and the beautiful water. This walk is even better in summer when the bars outdoors offer their delicious drinks and it blows the soft wind while the beach is illuminated by countless little lights.

The night and the famous “night march” arrives together, characterized by a tolerant atmosphere and attractive for the culture gay mainly for the Spanish, British and German gay community. Here the most famous version of the Carnival in Catalonia is celebrated, in this ceremony they take place very traditional events as “La llegada del Rey Carnestoltes” and “el entierro de la sardina”, doubtless, is a fun place which count with the participation of local and foreign people.

Among their beaches, we can visit Aiguadolç and Els Balomins which are in the east and are the calmest; “San Sebastiá, Fragata” and “la Playa de los Barcos” which don’t have very deep waters are the perfect place to go with your family; and “La Playa de la Ribera”, in the part west part is very concurred among young people.
